The
Connecticut River begins just below Canada and travels 410 miles to its end
at the Atlantic Ocean in Long Island Sound. It is New England's longest river
and in 1998 was declared an American Heritage River. The Connecticut River
Valley hosts numerous rivers, lakes, ponds and brooks, with the Connecticut
River itself, as the border between Vermont and New Hampshire.
The rural character coupled with gently rolling mountains, rich farmlands, bucolic villages, green pastures and northern forests evoke a special, warm, feeling you get, when modern day life seems to have drifted away.
